What Holtz was saying
After the University of South Florida's win against Connecticut, here is some of what was said Sunday during "The Skip Holtz Show" on WFLA, NewsChannel 8:
"It really makes it hard because B.J. (Daniels) has had such an unbelievable career here at South Florida in just the effort, energy and everything he put onto the field. He really approached each and every week really focused so my heart breaks for him and for the team."
"I can't say enough positive things about Maikon (Bonani). What a fantastic young man. As Joey (Johnston) was talking about, there's a lot of kickers that maybe are kind of off to the side. He's right in the middle of it. He's such a part of this team. Just an outstanding young man, a very hard worker, and I'm really excited for his success."
"Jon Lejiste finally comes up with our first interception of the season. He hurts his ankle, but that one was huge, our first interception of the season. We've waited a long time for that."
"There's been a lot of negativity around with the losing, but this senior class, the way they've led this team through some adversity, I think they've really done a great job of staying positive, going to work every day and that's really the only way to get through hard times."
In addition to the initial airing at 11:30 a.m. Sunday on WFLA, "The Skip Holtz Show" can be seen on Me-TV (FiOS Ch. 460 / Bright House
Ch. 607) at 7:30 p.m. today and during Thursday's coach's show block on
Fox Sports Florida.
